Liz, do you ever let anyone finish a discussion?  And then accusing Pejman of not letting anyone get a word in edgewise… that was an absolutely despicable excuse for debate.  That was a shout-down.

I think the chip on Liz’s shoulder is too large for her to be involved in meaningful discussions anymore. Not every topic boils down to wether or not someone favors Obama, nor how she personally feels about the security of the US. Terrible show today – absolutely dismal. Another performance like this and I’ll find better things to do with my time than listen to her put words in other peoples mouths and yell about how she’s not getting her fair turn to speak, all the while ignoring what’s being said. I’m disgusted.

This podcast was terrible, and many recent C&M podcasts with Pej and Liz have devlolved into unlistenable screaming matches.  I admire the idea that we want to have meaningful substantive debate on the right and not just always nod in agrement with each other, but this direction feels more like watching Chris Matthews on MSNBC.  Not a good direction for the New Ledger.

I agree with everyone here.  Elizabeth with her “this is how everyone sees it” is her only argument.  She doesn’t have any reasonable logic in her discussions.  I like the debate type format, but Elizabeth is not the right person for it.

Liz is really out of her depth here.  Her tone, her constant habit of putting words into Pej’s mouth, and her almost complete lack of analysis, come across as just childish.  C&M is a quality product that doesn’t need to descend into this kind of cable news display.  Debate can be really enlightening if the debaters themselves are enlightened

Well, I see I’m not the only one. Elizabeth’s presence really brings down this podcast.  I had been leaning this direction after her past few episodes but this one sealed the deal.  She offers nothing but knee-jerk reactions against whatever position Obama takes, even on the occasions when this administration gets something right. I learn nothing from her. Worse still, she interrupts Pej to distort or ignore what he is trying to say, effectively ruining any value to the conversation. I don’t know why Pej endures this confrontation. This was the first Coffee & Markets where I stopped listening halfway through.
