On today’s edition of Coffee and Markets, Pejman Yousefzadeh is joined by Mustafa Akyol to discuss the seeds of liberalism within Islam, how those freedoms were trampled in Muslim countries, and how the Arab Spring and the Green Movement in Iran might restore that personal liberty.

We’re brought to you as always by BigGovernment and Stephen Clouse and Associates. If you’d like to email us, you can do so at coffee[at]newledger.com. We hope you enjoy the show.

Just wanted to comment that today’s podcast was very well done and a quite interesting discussion.

This was an excellent podcast.  I think discussions of Islam and the Islamic world are difficult because it’s too easy to fall into steotypical opinions.  This discussion “appears” rational and gave me information far beyond anything I’ve heard elsewhere.
